Large Military Figures

Foot Combat Armour of King Henry VIII,
Circa 1520
King Henry VIII founded the royal armour workshop at Greenwich in 1515. Top rank craftsmen were brought in from Germany to Greenwich and the foot combat armour is the first surviving example of their work. The suit is extremely unusual, encasing the whole of the body in armour and leaving no gaps at all. There are only 2 or 3 other suits of armour in the world that cover so much of the body.
The suit of armor was produced for the King's use at the Field of Cloth of Gold. The original is on display at the Royal Armouries, Tower of London.
We have two different types of metal reproductions. The one on the left is a souvenir model and stands 5 1/2" (14 cm) tall, including the wood base. He is holding a sword. The visor tilts up and down. Item RA-H8, Price $20.00
The one on the right is a highly accurate reproduction of the armour, is solid and quite heavy. It stands 5 7/8" (15 cm) tall (7 1/8" [18 cm] at tip of the lance). Item RA-H8TA, Price $41.00
We recently added another large knight.
This knight figures in the time frame of the 15th/16th Century. During that time plate armour replaced chain mail because of its greater protection. Suits were literally made to measure for the individual. Knight and stand are 6¼" [15.5 cm] tall (knight only 5" [12.5 cm]). Visor tilts up and down. Price for this knight is $25.00 (Item WP-16CKS).

| We also have the following knights. The figures are each roughly 4 1/8" (10.5 cm) tall, while the halberd reach 5 1/2" (14 cm) at the tip. They are made of pewter. The price of each is $20.00
